The findings are alarming:<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cThe high number of patients infected or colonized with multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), who require the application of enhanced infection prevention and control (IPC) measures overwhelms healthcare staff, which results in further transmission of these MDROs. This situation represents a serious threat to patient safety.\u201d<sup>1<\/sup><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa3e7f9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"aa3e7f9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Concerning Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Data Across Europe<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d642b0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d642b0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>According to 2023 eCDC data, high resistance rates among the following pathogens are particularly concerning across Europe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-1-0 translation-block\"><em>Klebsiella pneumoniae<\/em>, resistent gegen Cephalosporine der 3. Generation und Carbapeneme<\/li>\n<li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-1-0 translation-block\"><i>Acinetobacter<\/i>  spp., carbapenem-resistant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These resistances highlight the spread of resistant clones within healthcare facilities and the limited treatment options available for patients <sup>2<\/sup><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34b1bba elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"34b1bba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Rising Incidence Between 2019 and 2023<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8b20eec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8b20eec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A comparison of eCDC data from 2019 to 2023 reveals a significant increase in the incidence of multidrug-resistant organisms (EU\/EEA):<\/p><ul><li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-2-0\"><em>Enterobacter faecium<\/em> +25,9%<\/li><li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-2-0\"><em>Acinetobacter<\/em> spp. +21,1%<\/li><li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-2-0\"><em>Klebsiella pneumoniae<\/em> +18%<\/li><li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-2-0\"><em><span lang=\"en-US\">Pseudomonas <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">aeruginosa<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"en-US\"> +11,7%\u00a0 <\/span><\/li><li class=\"docx_listenabsatz docx-num-2-0\"><em>Enterobacter faecalis<\/em> +11%<sup>2<\/sup><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-29b450c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"29b450c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Greece\u2019s severe AMR profile<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-434cc1d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"434cc1d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"docx_standardweb\">Greece is among the countries with the highest resistance rates (incidence in invasive isolates \u226550%):<\/p><ul><li class=\"docx_standardweb docx-num-3-0 translation-block\"><i>Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/i>, carbapenem-resistant<\/li><li class=\"docx_standardweb docx-num-3-0 translation-block\"><i>Klebsiella pneumoniae<\/i>, resistant to 3rd generation cephalosporins<\/li><li class=\"docx_standardweb docx-num-3-0 translation-block\"><i>Acinetobacter<\/i>  spp., carbapenem-resistant<\/li><li class=\"docx_standardweb docx-num-3-0 translation-block\"><i>Enterococcus faecium<\/i>, vancomycin-resistant<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"docx_standardweb translation-block\">This alarming situation is reflected in Greece\u2019s \"dark red\" AMR profile, as exemplified by carbapenem-resistant <i>Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/i>.<sup>2<\/sup><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
